Nicole Curtis' ex wants more visitation time

Nicole Curtis and her ex have a 30-month-old son together. Curtis has been open about her desire to breastfeed the child for as long as he would like, allowing him to wean off of it when he chooses to do so.

Naturally, the need to breastfeed the boy means that Curtis has argued she should get more time with him than her ex.

He does not agree. He believes she does not need to nurse the child any longer at around 2.5 years old and wants more time with him. He recently filed formal documents asking for a bigger role and more time with his son.

He also pointed out that he'd moved to Michigan from Minnesota. He said that Curtis didn't tell him before she left Minnesota to have the child in Michigan, but he rearranged his life so that he could be around more often.

Furthermore, he noted that the child doesn't do well with flying and that Curtis often has to travel for work. He said that put him in the perfect position to see the child more often, solving a potential scheduling issue while getting the result he's wanted all along.

This case brings up many interesting points about how complex a shared custody situation can be, including a relocation across state lines and a fundamental disagreement between the parents. These cases can be quite tricky, as both sides no doubt feel strongly about their positions and don't want to compromise.

That's why it's so important for parents to know all of their legal options and their parental rights as these cases can continue for months or even years.
